AORC Launches Women’s Development Program

The Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) presented by MXstore is proud to announce a new initiative to support and encourage female participation in the sport of enduro and increase female participation in the AORC. The Women’s Development Program is designed to offer a low-pressure pathway into the AORC and provide women of all levels the opportunity to race and improve in a supportive environment.

Paired with The Women’s Development Program is a new class for 2023; the EWD (Enduro Women’s Development), open to senior, all-power competitors.

The Women’s Development Program will run at all AORC rounds in 2023, with a 30-minute session at the beginning of every event weekend. The sessions will be held on the Friday afternoons of event weekends and will be hosted by experienced racers Jessica Gardiner, Emelie Karlsson and Josh Green.

“We are thrilled to be launching this program to support women in enduro,” said Peter Doyle, CEO of Motorcycling Australia (MA). “The goal is to develop a women’s community within the AORC and provide opportunities for female riders to further develop their skills and continue the strong tradition of women in the AORC and on the world stage.”

The Women’s Development Program is open to all women who simply want to race and improve their skills. Further, the program will seek to create a community that fosters a welcoming and encouraging environment for female competitors.
