Braico Ready to Launch at Dungog in The First Amateur 125 Cup

Rounds 5 & 6 of the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) will see a first at the upcoming rounds in Dungog, with the introduction of a new support class, the Amateur 125 Cup. The new support class offers senior competitors another avenue to get involved in the premier Australian off-road championship.

The new class will see multiple time AORC E3 Championship winner (2009,2013) Geoff Braico back in the paddock and strutting his stuff on board a Husqvarna TC 125 and he can’t wait to be back amongst the action and throwing the 125 around.

“I have done the whole E1,E2, E3 thing in the past that and now jumping on the 125 gives me the chance to have fun and ride the bike pinned wide open. Riding the 125 is all about having heaps of fun on dirt bikes and they are also the best sounding bikes out there.

“It will add a different dimension to AORC, bringing a fun enjoyable class and providing a great stepping stone for the club level guys to see if they are ready to take on the AORC classes. A club-man can enter and not have to think about racing against the seasoned factory guys, they can race against riders at the same level.”

Husqvarna have jumped at the chance to help Braico out in Dungog who will transform his bike from a motocross bike to an enduro bike for the Amateur 125 Cup.

“I am lucky enough to have got a bit of support from Husqvarna as I will be riding their TC 125, a motocross bike that I will be converting with a headlight and taillight. I can’t wait to get on the bike as it’s a great bike and I’m loving seeing Husky keen to have a bike out there.”

Even though Braico is back in the AORC scene and content on enjoying the weekend, you can’t take the competitive spirit out of the former E3 Champion.
“I would like to do well and grab the win but the priority for me is to have a heap of fun and pretty much smile all weekend. I am also looking forward to giving the spectators something different to hear as I go screaming past.”

After racing Hattah last weekend and then competing in the MX Nationals this coming weekend Braico has been looking forward to Dungog on July 28-29.

“I raced Hattah last weekend, but I’ve been looking forward to racing AORC in the next few weeks, and I will be racing the MX nationals this weekend and trying to get a few of those lads to come across,” finished Braico.
