Nathan Trigg joins the Motul Pirelli Sherco Team
The Motul Pirelli Sherco Team has kicked off its 2018 Team member line-up announcement with the signing of talented desert racer, Nathan Trigg. The farmer from Ouyen in north western Victoria has been named to race the Sherco 450 SEF-R with the Finke Desert Race and Hattah Desert Race his main focus.
“I see this as a massive opportunity,” said Trigg. “It’s going to be awesome to be a part of a great team. There might not be too many Shercos getting around just yet but we all know they’re a reliable and really great bike. I think this is just the beginning for me and the brand when it comes to cracking open the desert scene.”
Trigg has been a top contender at the two big desert events for the past few years, most recently racing a 300cc two-stroke on which he placed 6th at the 2017 Finke Desert Race and 7th at the 2017 Hattah Desert Race.
“I’m looking forward to racing the Sherco 450. It has more speed and I have a new bike now so I’ll be practicing and testing which will give me plenty of time to be right for the 2018 season. I live by the saying, ‘to finish first, first you must finish,’ but I plan to be right up there for the podium and maybe an outright win. I’ll be going for the outright win at Hattah for sure.
Trigg plans on racing North Western Victoria Motorcycle Club enduro events and selected rounds of the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) to keep him busy on the bike along with chasing the South Australian Motocross Championship where he placed third in 2017.
“Having Nathan on board gives us a great opportunity to be on the podium and putting Sherco up there where it deserves to be,” said Motul Pirelli Sherco Team manager, Derek Grundy. “This bike has been proven in enduro and hard enduro and we want to take it to the next level and show what it’s capable of in the desert with Nathan.”
The Motul Pirelli Sherco Team has again secured the mechanical services of Chad’s Off-Road Setups for 2018 with testing of new equipment already underway.
