Yamaha AORC, Rounds 3 & 4 Hedley VIC – What You Need to Know

The 2018 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) is back this weekend with Rounds 3 & 4 at Hedley, Victoria and the riders are ready and raring after an epic season opener at Gympie. Daniel Milner (E3), Daniel Sanders (E2), Luke Styke (E1) and Michael Driscoll (EJ) will all be out to improve their points lead after taking overall victories at Rounds 1 & 2. The weekend will start off with a Supersprint for the seniors and a Cross Country for the juniors before Sunday we wrap it up the weekend with sprints.

Saturday’s Supersprint will see the AORC competitors take on the 16km test and push themselves in a race against the clock. On Sunday the track will be cut down to two eight-kilometre tests, with the Juniors and Senior both racing to achieve the fastest time. This weekend will see the biggest AORC field ever with over 330 riders ready to tackle the dry conditions at Hedley.

Hedley, Victoria
Hedley is a small village in South Gippsland, located just east of Welshpool and 200km away from Melbourne Central Business District. The village has a population of 220 and is named after the late Dr George Hedley. The last time AORC visited Hedley the conditions were horrid, with torrential rain making the weekend a battle in the mud and ridding through puddles two foot deep. This time around it is the complete opposite with dry and dusty conditions expected to face the riders over the two days.
