MA ANNOUNCE NEW JUNIOR CLASSES FOR AORC

Friday, November 6, 2019

Motorcycling Australia today announced two new junior classes will join the expanding 2020 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC).

The two new championship classes to be added to the 2020 competition include Junior Girls 85cc to 200cc 2-stroke and 150cc to 250cc 4-stroke bikes for those aged 12-15-years-old at all rounds and a National Cup Class – Junior 65cc Cup – for those aged 9-12-years-old to compete at rounds 1 and 2, 5 and 6, 7 and 8, 11 and 12.

Motorcycling Australia Off-Road Events Manager, Matthew Falvo, said the expansion of the 2020 Yamaha AORC would ensure junior riders had a clear path to follow in off-road racing.

“The new Yamaha AORC junior and girl classes ensure we can provide junior races with a clear pathway to follow in their chosen passion of off-road racing,” Mr Falvo said.

“Off-road juniors and female riders are growing and they want to compete on a national level and these new classes provide that opportunity.

“These new classes are designed to support and actively engage our young riders and help them develop.

“Competing on the same stage as our world champion ISDE team is sure to not only inspire our young riders but also helps them pick up tips and tricks from our Australian professional riders.”

The 2020 Yamaha AORC Junior Classes will include:

Junior 65: 9-12 years 65cc

JG: 12-15 years 85cc to 200cc 2-stroke and 150cc to 250cc 4-stroke
